Fixture Secretary's report

Friendly against Hampshire has already been booked - 6th November @ Banister Park. A coach will be needed for this. Action GJ

League games against Cornwall and Dorset have been booked. Devon have withdrawn from the League this year.

Dorset (Home) - 20th November

Dorset (away) - 22nd January @ Dorchester. No coach needed.

Cornwall (Home) - 24th October

Cornwall (Away) - 9th January @ Carnmaggos. A coach will be needed for this. Action GJ

We assume we are running the League. Need to find the League Rules. Action KW to find if these are in the boxes from SG. A question about uniform was raised by another county as the league rules still state “whites”. Our uniform has been registered with EIBA.

President's Day has been booked - 14th October. A question was raised whether this could be an open day for new county bowlers to attend. This was agreed.

Other friendlies to consider with SCIBA and SCIPA. Action GJ to follow up from initial discussions and also with Wiltshire.

Last year we had friendly against Taunton and North Petherton. Potential to expand to include Minehead, Nailsea, Ilminster and Yeovil. Maybe three rinks/triples on separate dates so it may be easier to get teams. Action relevant Delegates of clubs listed above to ask if their club would be interested in hosting and feedback to GJ.

Atherley dates: Round 1 - 28th October, Round 2 - 16th December (usually the round we start with), QF - 13th January, SF - 2nd March.

Competition Secretary's report

Pairs and Triples competitions will be sent out earlier than last year.

Double Rink draw was delayed last year awaiting payment of Affiliation Fees from clubs.

Review of County Guidelines

Dress Code – A discussion took place regarding the compulsory wearing of blazers for the serving Officers. No-one voted for compulsory wearing. A vote was then taken for the President only to wear a blazer which was defeated (For 4 – Against 7).

County Uniform – wording was changed to reflect new uniform.

The wording in the first paragraph was amended to make it clearer that the Club Secretary &/or Delegate acts as liaison between the Club and Association.

Home games – changed the wording as no longer need to buy stickers

Away games – removed the statement that all players are required to travel on the coach. Added statement that same match fee is payable for independent travellers.

AOB

S Lloyd requested if she could put her county badge on her uniform (top or trousers) as she didn't wear the waistcoat or zipper. This was rejected as it would change the uniform registered.

S Lloyd raised whether a contribution to fuel could be made to drivers. It was stated that this could invalidate the driver's insurance.

S Aylmer asked if new players could wear their own club shirts for the President's day. This was agreed. Friendly games would need to be played in uniform.

Batch Country House needs to be booked early. Action KW.

The next Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday 26th September at North Petherton IBC commencing at 6:30pm

The meeting closed at 5:50pm
